Lucas Hernandez almost ended his career

The French defender escaped six months in prison in Spain after his appeal was accepted by the Superior Court of Justice in Madrid.

In an interview for Mark, Lucas Hernandez’s lawyer, Mauricio Gonzalez, talks about an injustice that affected his client, when the latter could have stopped his career because of it: “I find it surprising that it is pointed out that Lucas (Hernandez) avoided jail, because the headline should be that the Provincial Hearing overturned a decision clearly unfair against my client that involved his imprisonment. We were silent on all comments, but truthful information about the proceedings was not addressed. The first approximation is that Lucas has not served the sentence imposed, and this is false because he served his 31-day sentence for the benefit of the community, by collaborating with an association in 2017. (…) The second error is that Lucas Hernandez has two convictions for gender violence, but that never happened. (…) The imprisonment would have ended his sports and personal career. The Provincial Hearing gave us reason, there is no more appeal against this ordinance and we want to close this chapter after having avoided the unjust imprisonment of Lucas. “

Despite this legal threat over his head, Lucas Hernandez continued to be used for Bayern Munich during this period: the 25-year-old side has indeed played 9 out of 10 games as a starter this season.
