Atlanta Braves return to World Series.
The Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2, in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday and will return to contention for the Championship for the first time since 1999. Atlanta has failed to win. World Series since 1995.

Eddie Rosario hit the Dodgers Walker Buehler home run in the fourth inning to break the tie and give the Braves a 4-1 lead.

Braves reliever Tyler Matzek pitched a huge inning for Atlanta in the seventh. Matzek replaced Luke Jackson after allowing a few hits and a run to allow the Dodgers to reduce the deficit to 4-2. Matzek was able to keep two Dodgers runners in goal position and get Albert Pujols, Steven Souza Jr. and Mookie Betts on catches to end the threat and the inning.
In the next inning, Matzek started with a strikeout from Corey Seager. At one point, he made four strikeouts on just 12 shots.

Los Angeles got the clutch RBI from AJ Pollock in seventh. Cody Bellinger had and RBI to score Trea Turner. But that wasn’t enough for Los Angeles to knock out Atlanta for the second straight season.
Will Smith closed the Dodgers in the final frame.
Atlanta won the series 4-2.

Rosario has been hot throughout the series and has proven to be the difference factor. He was 12-for-21 heading into Game 6 against the Dodgers with two homers and a .571 / .609 / 1,000 slash line. He was acquired by the Braves mid-season in a trade with the Cleveland Indians against Pablo Sandoval.

He had a scoreless single in Game 2 of the series.
The last time the Braves competed in the World Series, they were in the middle of a streak of 11 straight NL East Division titles. The team won everything in 1995 but lost in 1996 and 1999 to the New York Yankees.
In recent years, the Dodgers reached the NLDS in 2018 and 2019 and traveled to the NLCS in 2020 to lose a 3-1 lead and lose the series altogether.
