Ledecká sets out for a golden defense. And she doesn’t want them laughing at her little ass

Ester Ledecká is already looking forward to snow and racing before the Olympic season. At the Beijing Games in February, she will try to follow up on the golden double from Pyongyang, where in 2018 she won a parallel giant snowboard slalom and a sensational super-giant ski slalom.

“I think I have a well-prepared body and head,” Ledecká said at a press conference, adding that she could not wait for the winter: “I am a racing type and I suffer despite the preparation. I think this season will be beautiful, and I hope it will be long. “

She admitted that she had the Olympics in her head. “But there are still a lot of races ahead of her. We will go step by step. When I am nominated, I hope I will go there a few races, both skiing and snowboarding,” smiled the 26-year-old star on the white slopes.

She praised the training in both disciplines. “Now it’s half and a half skis and a snowboard. I have more training days on a snowboard than last year,” she revealed.

The word Olympics is forbidden in the Ledecká team as before and a fine of ten euros is paid for its utterance. The athlete herself did not hold herself a total of three times during the answers, and the Olympics dropped the word. “I sewed a whip for myself,” the Prague native was horrified.

Not saying the Olympics is also a tactical psychological intention. With the Beijing Games approaching, they will increasingly hear that he is going to defend two golds, and the pressure will increase. “It’s pretty good so far. I’m ready to graduate, and I won’t let myself be decided,” she said.

She works on mental resilience with the help of one of her Red Bull sponsors and, most importantly, herself. “I’ve tried different techniques and I’ve always had a lot of fun,” she said.

She is said to be happy in her personal life, and when she is close to her, she has her loved ones on hand. “The mother we’re talking to, or my grandfather,” she named Zuzana’s mother and Jan Klapáč’s grandfather, the ice hockey world champion.

After the season, she also underwent various physical tests. She found out how her muscles worked, and over the summer she tried to harden her condition thanks to the results. “I’ve improved and I’m fine. I hope it lasts,” she wished, knocking for good luck.

However, she did not want to reveal training methods, she only added that she focused on the gluteal muscles, for example. “How to engage my ass, because I have a small one compared to other skiers. I tried to work on it so that other skiers wouldn’t laugh at me,” Ledecká joked.

He will start the season with a giant slalom in Sölden, Austria, next weekend, and then most likely move to Nakiska, Canada for training and then, at first speed, the World Cup races in Lake Louise.

It traditionally wants to combine skis and involve snowboarding more, in which only three races have taken place in the last two seasons. “We have a plan, but it always changes a hundred times. In the summer, I worked to keep the body ready for change. I hope it pays off and leave as much as I can.”

She was glad that she managed to keep the same implementation team until the Olympic season. “Although the whole team had several offers. I’m aware of that and I appreciate that they are loyal and stay with me. They are the best in the world, at least I think so, and I’m glad they’re not running anywhere,” she breathed.
