We have not seen Kosta Koufos on the American courts since early April 2019. The Greek-American pivot was then coming out of his worst season in his career and he had joined Europe, and CSKA Moscow, with a big salary.
His name then came back a few times in the rumors, but never ended with a return to the NBA. Until now because, at the age of 32, the New York Times tells us that the former from Memphis and Sacramento is returning to the United States.
Despite offers from European clubs, he will indeed sign with the Ignite Team, in the G-League, this team now led by Jason Hart and which serves as a training center for the talents who aim for the Draft.
Like a Jarrett Jack before him, and with his always impeccable mentality of a good soldier, Kosta Koufos will be able to bring his experience (686 matches in the regular season, 37 in the playoffs) to his very young teammates.
Kosta Koufos, the 11-year veteran NBA center, is signing with the Ignite select team in the @nbagleague, league sources say. Koufos had multiple European offers but will join the Ignite instead.
