by archysport

On October 26th and 27th the KATA World Championships took place in Lisbon / Portugal. With over 200 athletes from 25 countries, it was a very impressive event.

At these Kata World Championships, athletes competed in 5 different disciplines: Nage-no-kata, Katame-no-kata, Ju-no-kata, Kime-no-kata, Kodokan- Goshin-jutsu. For the first time, there was also a U23 category for the Nage-no-kata and Katame-no-kata competitions.

Martin and Philipp Hinteregger started in the Nage-no-kata in which a total of 22 couples were at the start. Unfortunately this time it did not go quite according to plan and the target (Top 10) was not quite achieved with 7th place in the preliminary round and 14th place overall.
