Karolína Plíšková was the second Czech to advance to this year’s Champions Tournament

Karolína Plíšková, as the second Czech tennis player, secured participation in this year’s Champions Tournament. Barbora Krejčíková has already qualified for the prestigious event for the eight best players of the season, and world number one Ashleigh Bartyová and number two Aryna Sabalenková are also sure to start in Guadalajara.

The world trio Plíšková advanced to the Tournament of Champions for the fifth time in a row, with the last three participations in the years 2017 to 2019 always passing to the semifinals. The Czech tennis player, who has the most aces of all the players on the WTA circuit this year, played three times in the finals on three different surfaces this season. “Playing at the Champions Tournament means that you are one of the best of the season, and that is always my goal. I look forward to the start and the experience of Guadalajara,” Plíšková told WTA, who qualified for her debut at the Champions Tournament in 2016. in singles and doubles.

This year it will be followed by Krejčíková, who, in addition to the premiere start in singles for the Champions Tournament, also has a certain place in doubles together with Kateřina Siniaková. Together with the Czech pair, only the Japanese pair Šuko Aojamaová, Ena Šibaharaová, have qualified for the doubles tournament so far.
