JWC clears away at district championships
Wermelskirchen At the weekend, the young athletes of JC Wermelskirchen fought at the district level. Especially with the girls of the U15, the club really won the championship and secured three titles.
Carolin Scheida -33kg was able to secure the title of district champion once again with two safe victories in the “best of three” mode. chick Hannah Glauner taught the older 40kg competition directly to fear and won the top spot on the podium. -48kg competed two JClerinnen. Manon Dörner fought extremely hard and won the first fight. In the semifinals she had to face her friend Mayla Gulich give up. Mayla had already won medals many times at the district level, but this year she presented herself in absolute top form in Leverkusen. After falling behind, Mayla literally equalized in the last second. In the Golden Score, Mayla’s impressive diligence in training paid off. The lioness conjured up a great floor fight on the mat, which ultimately earned her the gold medal she deserved.
Emma Becker started -52kg with a hard-fought win against a strong competitor. In the final she just lost, but the qualification was no longer to be taken from her.
Julius Glaser started the tournament as the title favorite -50kg with a spectacular victory. In the semifinals, however, his opponent caught him on the wrong foot (or toe, because he got a lot) and promoted the lion into the small final. Here Julius won what was probably the hardest fight of his career to date and secured the fifth ticket for the Wermelskirchener.
In the U11, the district championships are the highest qualification level.
Mats Glaser fought with an impressive calm and showed great clarity and flexibility for his age, he won all three fights with ease. His friend Leopold Harms marched into the final with three early wins. There was a high-class fight to be seen late at night, in which Leopold was just left behind.
The U13s used the measure in Leverkusen to gather competition practice. Phil Cabecana could not show his great ability this time because he was disqualified in the first fight.
Svea Breidenbach showed her great potential and impressed coaches Kaweh Scheida Obviously: “The competition was a bit stronger than Svea, but it will look different in the coming year.” So Scheida. Jule bitterly won an excellent 3rd place. before Julia Scheida Everyone was so scared that, according to host Michael Weyres, they stayed at home.
