The prestigious tradition of the blue kata, once again, has been respected. And the merit is to be attributed to the whole team but, specifically, the applause goes to the Venetian couple composed of Andrea Fregnan and Pietro Corcioni, specialists in Katame no kata (forms of control) who earned the silver medal at the Championships. World Cup which ended yesterday in Lisbon. The formal performances of judo techniques, which since 2009 have been combined in competition with official world championships, are entrusted to the evaluations of the juries who draw up rankings in the preliminary rounds and in the final reserved for the top six couples. Scores that reward the precision and harmony of the gestures, the order and punctuality of the sequences, aspects that require the maximum attention of the performers and, nevertheless, of the jurors. One hundred and three pairs of twenty-five representative nations of four continents got involved in Lisbon and Italy, present with nine pairs, climbed together with France and Spain to the podium of the most numerous teams.
