Before she had made it Arantxa Snchez Vicario, Manolo Santana, Manuel Alonso, Manolo Orantes and Andrs Gimeno.

This week the six names of the candidates to join this select club have been announced, only reserved for the great names of the racket. There are two Spaniards on the list, Carlos Moy and Juan Carlos Ferrero, the first members of the men’s ‘Navy’ to reach the world number one in the ATP rankings introduced in 1973.

The other players who have entered the fan voting, which will run from October 15 to 31, are Flavia Penneta, Lisa Raymond, Ana Ivanovic y Cara Black.

Moy and Ferrero accumulated a total of 36 titles, including Roland Garros in the 1998 and 2003 editions, respectively. In the same way they were part of the Spanish team that won the Davis Cup in 2004 after beating the United States at La Cartuja in Seville.
