Johan Carbonero Gimnasia de La Plata talks about his future and passing through Argentina | Colombians Abroad

Johan Carbonero has been one of the outstanding players, of the Colombians abroad. His role in Gimnasia de La Plata and goals have attracted the attention of the entire football environment. The winger spoke with the program De Fútbol Se Habla Así, from DirecTV Sports, about what his performance has been in Argentina, what will happen to his career, dreams and the memory of Maradona.

Carbonero’s future: my next step is to continue showing my talent, in the few games that remain here in Argentina and wait for what happens to me in December, when the contract ends. We have to keep breaking it, for a better future and give all the best to my family.

Offers to the future and its future: like any young player, I would like to reach Europe. My representatives have not told me anything, they know that I have done well. They don’t tell me anything to keep me focused and doing a good job.

Life in Gymnastics: In La Plata, the club is the biggest. There is the rivalry with Estudiantes, but where you go you meet gymnastics fans. It has the stadium and I wondered why they called the stadium the forest, when I arrived, I realized that the stadium was in the middle of a forest.

Gymnastics people have treated me in the best way and I am grateful to be part of this club.
Rubbing in Argentine football: football here is very intense, it gets too involved. They hit more, they do not whistle any fault or contact. That is why I think it is one of the most competitive in the world.

Possible arrival to the National Team: it has been my dream, to be in the Colombian National Teams, I had the chance to be under 20 with Arturo Reyes. I aspire to be in the one of majors. Dreaming is free and I do not see it impossible to be called and be in a World Cup for adults.

Those who have made it to the National Team are excellent footballers. I think I would fit in, I am an unbalancing player, fast and intelligent.
Positioning by band: in Once Caldas with Bodhert I started in that sector, there I played the most games. In Argentina they changed my side, but I have no problem playing on both sides.

His best goal: one that I did to Nacional in the Cup final, because it was my first final. The stadium was full, we were losing and with my goal we tied. Unfortunately we lost it at the final minute.

Where would you like to play in the future: I dream of playing for Real Madrid with Mbappé.

I remember Maradona: I couldn’t share much with him, but the day I debuted, it was Diego’s birthday. He was in the stadium, he greeted us all in the dressing room and since I had just arrived, he greeted me last. He came up to me, gave me a hug, but I don’t remember what exactly he said.
