Joe Burrow enters the MVP race against Tom Brady

Although Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have won six in a row, the Green Bay quarterback stayed on the shore in this edition of the MVP Watch, which only considers five players.

Rodgers threw three passes to the end zone in Sunday’s win over Washington, But we’ll have to see him on Sunday against the Arizona defense, and probably without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, who are on the list COVID-19 of the Packers.

This week we have a new contender on the MVP Watch. This is Joe Burrow, who had a spectacular performance in Cincinnati’s triumph in Baltimore.

1.- QB Tom Brady, Tampa Bay

Brady, the first quarterback in history with 600 touchdown passes in the regular season (685 including Playoffs) he leads the league with 21 shipments to the diagonals, and that he has not had his entire arsenal at his disposal.

On Sunday, for example, Antonio Brown did not play and Rob Gronkowski continues to recover from a rib injury. It wasn’t a problem, because “TB12” threw four touchdowns against Chicago. Mike Evans had six catches for 76 yards and three touchdowns, while Chris Godwin caught eight balls for 111 yards and a visit to the end zone.

2.- QB Kyler Murray, Arizona

Murray completed 20 of his 28 passes and had 261 yards and three touchdowns in Arizona’s 31-5 win over Houston.

Under Murray, the Cardinals remain the only undefeated team in the NFL and are 7-0 for the first time since 1974.

Competition matters and Murray must be seen on Thursday against another contender in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers.

Murray currently leads the league among qualified quarterbacks with an ERA of 73.5% and is third with a rating of 116.8.

3.- QB Dak Prescott, Dallas

Prescott did not play this week and is recovering from a calf injury, but that doesn’t mean he should be left out of our MVP Watch.

Dak has played six games at the highest level we’ve seen him in his young NFL career and is the main reason the Cowboys are considered contenders in the NFC.

It will be a real surprise if we don’t see him back on the field Sunday night when Dallas visits the Minnesota Vikings for their sixth straight win.

4.- QB Matthew Stafford, Rams

In the game against his former team, Stafford passed for 334 yards and three touchdowns, enough to give the Rams their sixth win of the season.

Stafford is second with 19 touchdown passes and a rating of 116.8 points.

There is little to claim from this veteran, who has more than shown that all he needed was better talent around him and, above all, a good coach, because the three he had in Detroit (Jim Schwartz, Jim Caldwell and Matt Patricia) they were a disgrace.

5.- QB Joe Burrow, Cincinnati

Burrow had his best game as a professional against what many thought was the best team in the AFC. The young second-year quarterback passed for 416 yards and three touchdowns in beating the Bengals 41-17 at Baltimore.

Burrow enters the MVP conversation with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who is a serious candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Burrow and Chase destroyed offensives at LSU and it appears they have the same plans in Cincinnati.
