JC 66 Bottrop receives another award for its commitment

Düsseldorf.
The JC 66 Bottrop has once again been awarded the “Stars of Popular Sports”. The club convinced the jury with an online tournament.

On Tuesday, the “Stars of Popular Sports” were awarded to clubs and their projects for special social commitment. After the JC 66 Bottrop two years ago with the judo school project “Values. School. Judo ”was represented and even won the state qualification there, this year’s project, the“ ELE Team Challenge online 2021 ”, was rewarded with fifth place. 191 clubs took part in the elimination with their projects.

“During the lockdown time, we had to come up with something for our members and especially our little ones to keep the club going and to motivate the kids to do sports. Ultimately, with ETCO 2021, we even managed to integrate other clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia and also to help them get through the difficult time. The competitive nature of our project was ultimately the key to success and to the extraordinary number of participants of at least 16 teams in three age groups, ”says project initiator Sven Helbing, explaining the success of the concept.

“It was nice to see in Düsseldorf that, despite the pandemic, so many clubs were so hard-working and developed extremely interesting concepts. Sometimes necessity makes you inventive and can open new doors. It’s great that we were represented again and that we received fifth place recognition for our work, ”said Detlef Kaziur, President of JC 66, who had traveled to Düsseldorf with Helbing for the award ceremony.
