Three days after his world title – the first for a Frenchman in MotoGP – the 22-year-old young man from Nice, still “on his cloud”, took the time to confide in Le Figaro.
Fabio, have you had time since Sunday to realize the historic significance of this world champion title?
Fabio Quartararo: Honestly, I still don’t really realize and I stay on my cloud. It’s exceptional what we achieved with the whole team. Little by little, I realize what this title represents. Personally, I am very proud of the work done this season because throughout the season, I was almost always at the head of the World Championship. It is certain that when you spend so much time in this leader’s costume, you know that you want to keep it until the end. And I really think I deserved this title.
Many observers have been impressed this year by the serenity you exude, which was not necessarily the case in previous seasons …
