Italian Super Cup, here is the date and venue. And Juve-Napoli does not slip

Officiality is still missing, but it should be Wednesday 12 January 2022 the good date for the Italian Super Cup between Inter and Juventus. The dialogue between the two clubs and Lega Serie A has come to a head in the last few days and the first decision was to give up the trip to Saudi Arabia: the match will take place at San Siro, with income equally divided. And after evaluating the dates of December 22, 2021 and January 5, 2022, the choice would have fallen on the following week.

Super Cup and calendar, the point: Juventus-Napoli will not slip

In the last few hours there has been much discussion about the possibility of playing the Super Cup on January 5th. Such a choice would have resulted in the postponement of Juventus-Napoli (scheduled for January 6) with the consequence of recovering it in the following weeks. The current leaders could thus have recovered for the big match of Stadium i players involved in the Africa Cup of Nations (from January 9 to February 6).

It will not be so, however, choosing the window of January 12. No league game must be moved and therefore Juve-Napoli will remain on the calendar for January 6, with Spalletti most likely forced to do without Osimhen, Koulibaly and Anguissa. In that week the program of the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia is scheduled to begin, but it will be enough to schedule the matches of Inter and Juventus in a subsequent slot.
