San Salvador. The President of the National Sports Institute, Yamil Bukele, presented the improvement projects for the El Polvorín and Merliot sports complexes, which are in addition to those already announced in recent days.

The head of INDES explained that there will be a total of nine sports venues to intervene, with funds granted by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) for a total of $ 115 million.

The improvement of the El Polvorín Sports Complex will cost about $ 14 million and involves the remodeling of the Olympic, Calvados and warm-up pools, the badminton gym and the velodrome, plus the adaptation of the facilities for people with disabilities.

$ 10 million will be invested in Ciudad Merliot to continue with the third intervention phase of the Polideportivo hotel and the improvement of the facilities of the swimming, archery, squash and tennis federations.

“It is good that everyone knows that sport is a priority for this Government and each portfolio is working on its way,” said the president of INDES.

Last week the improvement of the Jorge Mágico González National Stadium, the Pablo Arnoldo Guzmán Softball Stadium, the Saturnino Bengoa Ball Park and the Flor Blanca Sports Complex were announced.
