Independiente Medellín denied the sale of the equipment to a foreign group | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

This Monday, Deportivo Independiente Medellín published a statement on its website in which it clarifies the team’s situation regarding a possible sale to a Portuguese investment group that has been in the capital of Antioquia for several days.

“Equipo del Pueblo SA informs the press, fans and public opinion in general that to date the club has not closed any offer for the purchase of the team. At the time, the club had the intention of knowing the situation of the team, for which confidentiality agreements were signed, normal in a negotiation stage but which never became a proposal, ”said the club.

In addition, the team highlighted that “we invite the press and public opinion to be careful with the information that is shared, to avoid confusion generated by people outside the institution. When something new is presented, it will be informed through the official channels of the club ”.

Regarding the information that the club came to clarify through this statement, it is because many sports media and supporters of the red team, would have confirmed a negotiation between some Portuguese businessmen, who, among other things, would be the owners of Sporting de Lisboa, last Portuguese champion and those who have been in Medellín for several days knowing the club’s offices, the sports headquarters and attending the games. The red set has been with the subject of a possible sale since the previous year, but situations such as the pandemic and economic differences, would have been the cause that this business did not come to fruition.
