With the title at a general level for the athletes of the municipality of Medellín in underwater activities, along with the yew that was also for the representatives of Medellín, ended today in the municipalities of Yarumal and Campamento, the second day of activities of the Final Youth Department of the Intercollegiate Sports Games of 2021. In Yarumal, the representatives of the department were defined in underwater and shuffleboard activities for the National Final in the youth category.
Likewise, today at the Semisiones de Yarumal athletics track the tests of the second day of athletics were run. In this same municipality, in the Semisiones Shopping Center, the chess players competed in another two of the five rounds of the tournament in the manner planned. Likewise, in different scenarios the competitions in judo, wrestling and field tennis were held and the elimination phase matches were played in handball, soccer and volleyball.
In the headquarters of the municipality of Campamento, in which five disciplines are carried out, in the Citizen Integration Center the games of table tennis were played in the doubles modality and in the main park the fights of the second night of boxing were played . In basketball, baseball and indoor soccer, little by little, the qualifiers are favored at the finals on Saturday morning. Today eight basketball games, three baseball games and eight indoor soccer games were played in Camp.
This multisport contest was inaugurated the previous Tuesday and has the participation of 2,000 students representing different populations of the department.
The final is organized by the Sub-management of Promotion and Development of Indeportes Antioquia, with the coordination of the administrations and sports entities of Yarumal and Campamento and the support of the Communications Advisory Office of the departmental institute.
Individual and collective disciplines:
In this final, 17 disciplines are carried out, 11 individual and six as a group. So far, the technical level in sports such as basketball, indoor soccer and volleyball, has been high.
In individual sports, athletics evidences the great work in the department, along with the massive participation. Table tennis and chess are the other two activities with good projection, along with combat sports such as boxing, judo and wrestling. The underwater tests that ended today, showed good times and records by the athletes in competition.
During the second day, in the two venues, 40 games were played: eight in basketball, six in handball, three in baseball, seven in soccer, eight in indoor soccer and eight in volleyball. The competitions were held in 14 sports venues in the municipalities of Yarumal and Campamento.
