In Guerlédan, Cap Armor needs to find new momentum

The sporting and cultural activities of Cap Armor, offered in Guerlédan (Côtes-d’Armor), in July and August 2021, attracted 1,697 participants. Among them, children and adults, locals and holidaymakers come to have fun with their family.

“We will have to get to work”

This is less than in past years when there were around 2,200 to 2,300 people ”, recognized the facilitators and partners, meeting Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the evening, in town hall. Partly the fault of the health crisis. She slowed down some popular activities like rappelling down the steeple on Friday night. With just one rope, attendance was halved. But information and publicity were also lacking and the program needs to be dusted off from certain activities which are no longer successful.

We will have to get to work quickly with partners, inventing new activities and new practices to meet the demand of locals and holidaymakers ”, said Eric Le Boudec, deputy mayor of Mûr-de-Bretagne. Because if sanitary conditions return to normal, we must set the target of 2,500 participants ”, added Josette Coz, deputy in charge of municipal associations.

What name to replace Cap Armor?

Mathieu Guilloux, director of the Center and those in charge of the tourist office, the departmental outdoor base, the canoe-kayak club, and Identi’terre have therefore made an appointment to work on the 2022 program.

It is already clear that certain activities, nautical for example, such as kayaking on Lake Guerlédan, sailing, water skiing, towed buoys or even minigolf, climbing, shooting. archery, football and beach volleyball will once again take pride of place in the program, as will the tree climbing which cardboard every Tuesday morning, given the very attractive price.

Another line of work: the name of the center. The Côtes-d’Armor department no longer accompanies the events, the name Cap Armor is no longer of interest; we are on a local organization. It’s up to us to find another name that appeals more to locals ”, said Eric Le Boudec.

The actors therefore have their work cut out for them to give new impetus to Cap Armor and liven up the 2022 tourist season in Guerlédan.
