HSV missed victory against Düsseldorf despite the majority

Dhe Hamburger SV missed the second home win in the 2nd Bundesliga despite being superior and outnumbered. The North Germans parted on Saturday evening in the local Volksparkstadion of Fortuna Düsseldorf with 1: 1 (1: 0) and thus remain at a distance from the promotion places. For the hosts, Robert Glatzel met in front of 38,954 spectators (19th minute). Robert Bozenik equalized (72nd). The Düsseldorf team had to do without Edgar Prib after just 25 minutes. After a foul on Tim Leibold, he saw the red card.

Coach Tim Walter’s team wanted to win after two draws in order not to let the deficit grow to the rivals at the top of the table. A win in five home games is not enough for the aspirant.

Walter initially left his second-best goalscorer in midfielder Moritz Heyer on the bench and instead relied on the 20-year-old Finn Anssi Suhonnen. The vocal backdrop initially seemed to inspire the people of Düsseldorf. They played more lively and straightforward in the first 20 minutes, but had no luck in the end. The hamburgers, on the other hand, lacked liveliness.

Surprisingly, however, the home side took the lead after Glatzel had duped his opponent Dragos Nedelcu. When the Fortunen were punished a little later with a dismissal, the Hamburg won the upper water. From then on, the Düsseldorf-based company was rarely able to present itself promisingly.

However, ex-Hamburger Khaled Narey was tirelessly on the move. He had the equalizer on the foot, but failed. The substitute Bozenik finally succeeded for the guests, who were rewarded for their strong fighting performance.
