Guruma History (Waist car), Is one of the first 40 throws of judo developed by Jigoro Kano. It belongs to the second group,

Dai Nikyo on the traditional throwing list is Gokyo (no waza) of Kodokan Judo. It is also part of the current 67 Kodokan Judo wrestling competitions. It is classified as hip technology, Yue Chi.

Technical Description

In Koshi Guruma, the attacker tries to force the opponent to bend over a little so that he can hold his right arm on the opponent’s head. This is not a problem for smaller opponents. During this process, he rolled his right hip inward over the opponent’s right hip. During this round, the legs follow a series of steps. In the new position, the attacker only needs to bend a little bit to lift the opponent off the ground. Then, the last step is to follow this action to throw the opponent to the ground and rotate the body clockwise. The attacker can choose to follow up, and if the operation is correct, he can directly put himself in Kesa-gatame.

Technology history

Since Kano Sensei, Koshi Guruma has been a trick of judo traditionalists. Recently, in certain countries (such as Canada), Koshi Guruma has been frowning because of his potential neck injury risk. Classes are still taught at the yellow or orange belt level, but their use is prohibited in certain competitions.
