Herry IP Reveals Why Marcus Kevin Can Win Over Fajar Rian in the 2021 French Open Semifinals : Okezone Sports

PARIS – The Indonesian men’s doubles pair, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, won the civil war against Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the semifinals of the French Open 2021, Saturday (30/10/2021) night WIB. Based on the observations of the coach of the two men’s doubles, namely Herry Iman Pierngadi (IP), Marcus/Kevin deserved to win.

Because according to Herry IP, Marcus / Kevin can play calmly. Meanwhile Fajar/Rian were in too much of a hurry so it was easy to lose points. That’s what he thinks is the reason Marcus / Kevin are the ones who qualify for the final.

As is known, Herry IP – his nickname, is the coach of the two couples. The 59-year-old coach was very enthusiastic to see the game presented by his foster children. He also admitted that the match was exciting because both pairs performed optimally.

“Today’s match was exciting, crowded and both were maximum. Looks good. Whoever wins is still Indonesia,” said Herry IP, quoted from the official PBSI release, Saturday (10/30/2021).

Competing at the Stade de Pierre Corbetin, France, the two Red and White pairs did present a very exciting match. Although they are compatriots, both partners performed with maximum performance.

With a very tight match, The Minions -Marcus/Kevin’s nickname – finally managed to win in the rubber game. They won over Fajar/Rian with a score of 21-19, 12-21, and 26-24.

Herry IP also gave his assessment of the two Indonesian mainstay men’s doubles. He also hopes that in the final match tomorrow, the Minions can appear more focused.

“Marcus/Kevin played calmer especially when the points were critical and fell behind. On the other hand, Fajar/Rian seemed to be in a hurry to finish the match, so they lacked control,” he said.

Marcus / Kevin

“Marcus/Kevin slowly, I see it is improving but not at 100%. Little by little they can get back to their best. For tomorrow’s final I hope they continue to fight, concentrate and focus,” he added.

Furthermore, Marcus/Kevin will appear in the final of the French Open 2021 on Sunday, October 31, 2021. For their opponents, they still have to wait for the match between the representatives of Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik against the South Korean pair, Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol.
