Hernan Crespo does not last a year as coach of Sao Paulo | Foreign football

Hernan Crespo, ex-striker of Parma, Milan and Chelsea, among others, caused a stir in January when he managed to book a historic victory in the Copa Sudamericana (say the South American Europa League) with the small Argentine club Defensa y Justicia.

This put Crespo in the sights of Sao Paulo, who fired his trainer shortly after that stunt and put his fate in the hands of the Argentinian.

Crespo achieved immediate success, as in May he was already able to capture the State Championship, the first prize for Sao Paulo in 9 years.

But the start of the new season was catastrophic. First he saw his star player Dani Alves leave after a dispute with the board and then he saw his team pile up poor results in the competition. Also in the Copa Libertadores he flew out with Sao Paulo in the quarterfinals.
