Hakim Ziyech important for Chelsea | Football

Chelsea took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Kai Havertz. The German headed in a cross from Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan international had last been directly involved in a goal more than two months ago against Villarreal, so the assist was more than welcome.

However, Tuchel’s team could not enjoy the lead for long. Two minutes after the break, Southampton came alongside via Che Adams. Both teams failed to score in the remainder of the game, meaning that a penalty shoot-out had to decide.

Southampton striker Theo Walcott was the first to miss, but Mason Mount also failed shortly after, who had relieved Ziyech twenty minutes before time. A miss by William Smallbone eventually killed Southampton.

Arsenal beat Leeds

Arsenal continue to do well in England. The London formation booked a victory over Leeds United in the League Cup, the ‘second’ cup tournament in the country. It was 2-0 for the home team. After a difficult start, Arsenal are already six games without defeat in the Premier League.

The goals came after the break and were credited to Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah.

Defender Pascal Struijk played the entire game with Leeds.

AC Milan win in Serie A and distance themselves from Napoli

AC Milan has again distanced itself from Napoli at the top of the Italian Serie A. The team of trainer Stefano Pioli won at home against Torino, 1-0. The lead over the pursuer is therefore 3 points.

The home team took the lead within fifteen minutes. Olivier Giroud scored. The Frenchman did this after preparatory work by Rade Krunic. Zlatan Ibrahimovic came in for Giroud a few minutes before the end.

Napoli will play against Bologna on Thursday and can level with Milan if they win. Defending champion Inter is currently 10 points behind the leader.
