Guinea: coach Didier Six sacked

Didier Six will no longer train the national Syli. The Guinean Football Federation has decided not to continue with the French technician after the elimination of the selection in the race for the 2022 World Cup.

At the end of a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Guinean Football Federation on Thursday, October 28, 2021, it emerges that Didier Six will be leaving the Syli. With a record of three draws and one defeat, the Guinean selection was eliminated from the race for the 2022 World Cup.

“As a reminder, the Syli National who obtained his qualifying ticket for the final phase of the CAN, Cameroon 2021, did not shine during the first four days of the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, to the point of being prematurely eliminated. “, indicates the Feguifoot in a press release published on its site.

Arrived in 2020 for a period of three years, Didier Six’s mission was to qualify Syli for CAN 2021 and the 2022 World Cup. Even if he achieved the first objective, the failure on the second is almost unforgivable from the point of view of view of the Guinean authorities.

“Negotiations between the Guinean Football Federation and coach Didier Six, who attended the meeting on Thursday at FEGUIFOOT headquarters, are underway for an amicable separation”, indicates the note.

Kaba Diawara who was assistant to Six becomes the head coach. He will have Mandjou Diallo as his deputy. The duo will take care of the last two playoff games. Syli play in Conakry on November 12 against Guinea-Bissau before moving to Rabat to challenge Morocco on November 15.
