This weekend highlights a large presence from San Juan in regional, national or international competitions and it is motor sport that will have the most San Juan representatives. Also judo with Karim Adarvez, athletics in Mendoza, and the training of various athletes from San Juan in calls for national teams.

Motoring

This weekend a new date of the Cuyano Zonal Championship will be held at the Jorge Angel Pena racetrack in Mendoza. The event called the Automobile Club Mendoza 90th Anniversary Grand Prize, organized jointly by the ACM and the Asociación Volantes del Este (AVE), will have more than 80 cars on the track among the four categories that make up the show: Class 2, TC Cuyano, Promotional Fiat and Turismo Pista 1.4.

There will be ten people from San Juan present, Fabrizio Benedetti in Class 2, Ariel Flaquer and Ernesto Vidal in TC Cuyano, Gabriel Moyano, Gonzalo Martínez, Ulises Campillay and Sergio Ferrer in Tourism Track 1.4 and Nicolás Peralta, Emanuel Espósito and Pedro Gómez Vila in the Promotional Fiat.

Basketball

Last night at the Estadio Papa Francisco Jáchal BC he played his 3rd game in the Argentine League, receiving Rivadavia de Mendoza. In a very even match process they finished tied at 68 and had to define in extra time where the oranges from Mendoza prevailed by 74 to 71.

NIcolás Tivani, an athlete from the High Performance Program, has just won in Río Pinto on the MTB in Chilecito in the Western Tour and is now competing in the 10th Tour of Cutral Co in Río Negro.

The rider from the Virgen de Fátima Association, yesterday Friday, was awarded the 1st stage. Today the second stage is run, while tomorrow Sunday the chrono will be held in the morning hours and in the afternoon it ends with the last stage with 90 kms through the streets of Cutral Co.

Judo
Karim Adarvez, an athlete who is part of the High Performance program, will be the only Argentine to participate in the Malaga European Open, integrating the -66kg category. The activity starts from today Saturday from 10:00 Argentine time (15:00 Spanish time).

There will be 421 competitors from 39 different nations, and the great news is that this tournament grants points for the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle. Adarvez has been training for two months in Spain, at a club called AJM, in addition to training camps in Europe with Olympic and world champions.

Avoid Games

On Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Evita Provincial Games will continue with Judo in the provincial final that will bring together the representatives of all the departments in the Rivadavia Club.

Karting

Great job by Joaquín Naranjo in the IWF2021, Iame Karting World Championship, which takes place at the Adria Internacional Raceway in Italy. Representing Argentina in the X30 Junior category and overcoming the power of the European teams, the young San Juan driver was able to close a great Friday where he won Final C, achieving one of the three places for Final B that was played today in the early hours of the morning.

Motorcycling
Speed ​​motorcycling has two very important poles with representatives from San Juan: The Argentine Superbike and the Yamalube bRU Cru Cup in Brazil.

The Argentine Superbike is contesting the 5th date at the Autodromo de San Nicolás with the presence of 4 pilots from San Juan. In the Moto AR3 or 250 cc category, Santino Sabattini, arrives as the leader of the championship and with chances of being crowned champion on this date and together with Juan Elías Mora, they are the two provincial representatives in the minor category.

In R3 Cup, Mauricio Quiroga led the general practice yesterday and arrives very toned at this date. Juan Ignacio Rodríguez returns on this date, and with the magic intact, yesterday he managed to get 7th in a great job among the 29 drivers in the largest category. The activity continues today Saturday, and ends tomorrow Sunday with the finals.

Motocross

For the 6th date of MX Mendocino at the Daniele MX Circuit in Tunuyán, 19 pilots from San Juan will represent the province in different categories and ASER, the Asociación Sanjuanina de Enduro y Rescate.

The drivers who will race in Mendoza this weekend are: Pedro Gil, Mirko Cristofanelli, Catalina Rodriguez, Delfína Rodriguez, Charly Lezcura, Ayelen de la Porte, Nico Muñoz, Ricardo Mira, Guillermina Gonzales, Peluca Hierrezuelo, Daniel Ruiz, Marcelo Trías, Alejandro Telles, Alejo Morales, Anita Morales, Santino Rubiño, Juan Manuel Rubiño, Juan Ignacio Rubiño and Tomy Bolzonella.

Rally

Yesterday began the 7th date of the Argentine Rally with the traditional 50th Edition of the Vuelta de la Manzana, based in the city of General Roca in Río Negro, where 3 pilots from San Juan represent us in two categories.

Gastón Pasten (VW Polo), who scored 3rd in the RC2B class championship, set the 2nd best time in the Shakedown yesterday Friday and will seek in this competition, consolidating his great moment with a new podium. In RC5 class, Gabriel Abarca was 2nd, while Sebastian Landa was 4th in yesterday’s Shakedown. Both with Ford Fiesta Kinetic.

Today, Saturday, there will be 5 specials that will complete the first stage, while for the second stage on Sunday, 4 more specials await to total just over 125 kms of race.

triathlon

Several San Juan triathletes participate in national training camps in Chaco and Buenos Aires. After last weekend’s victory and qualification for the Cali Pan-American Games, Lautaro Delgado along with Ayrton Robledo participate in a national training campus in Resistencia, Chaco.

In Buenos Aires a campus of the Argentine team is held where Luciano Frías, Daiana Frías and Lucila Robledo were summoned. The campus is to take time and see what state the boys of the Argentine National Team are in, ending on Sunday. Professor Maximiliano Peralta was also summoned.
