FIFA punishes Union Berlin during a duel with Feyenoord for racist behavior | Football

The European Football Association also obliges Union Berlin to display a cloth with the text “#NoToRacism” at the location of the closed stands.

Fans of Union Berlin are said to have chanted anti-Semitic slogans at fans of opponent Maccabi Haifa on September 30. The Berlin police also decided to launch an investigation into a Union supporter who tried to set an Israeli flag on fire.

President Dirk Zingler of the club from the German capital later apologized for the behavior of the fans, which he described as “embarrassing and unacceptable”.

Union Berlin – Feyenoord starts on Thursday at 9 p.m. and will be played in the Olympiastadion. It is a loaded game, especially because of the disturbances of last week in Rotterdam. The night before the game, hooligans attacked a catering facility where the Union Berlin club management was sitting. The police arrested 75 people around the game, including a group of almost sixty Union fans who would have been out in the Lombardijen district for a confrontation with Feyenoord supporters.
