Feyenoord Under 18 has drawn the mini-Classic at Varkenoord. Melvin Boel’s team took the lead after the break, but had to take the equalizer not much later. The game eventually ended in a 2-2 tie. Mannou Berger was still very important in the final phase. The goalkeeper took a penalty.
Just a few weeks ago, the duel between Feyenoord Under 18 and Ajax Under 18 resulted in a true spectacle, in which the home team at De Toekomst sports park won in the absolute final phase: 4-3. The entertainment value of the match on a soaking wet Varkenoord was somewhat lower, but it was not bad for Boel’s team.
For example, striker Nesto Groen opened the score in the twentieth minute. His fifth goal of this competition season came about somewhat fortunately. A deflected corner was picked up by Gjivai Zechiël and his departure landed right in Groen’s feet. He accepted and fired in control.
Already in the 27th minute Ajax U18 repaired the damage via Eskild Munk Dall. The center attacker tapped in a cross, which meant that Feyenoord had to hunt for the lead again. That came soon after the break, to be precise after 23 seconds in the second half. Jaden Slory completed an outside play with a shovel in the left corner.
Ajax substitute Yoram Boerhout polished off that goal by scoring the 2-2 at the far post after almost an hour of play. In the final seconds of the match Ajax seemed to take the victory again, after the other substitute Jeppe Jensen had decorated a penalty kick and he himself went behind the ball. But Mannou Berger decided otherwise. The Feyenoord goalkeeper turned the bet in the right corner: 2-2.
