Encabeza Justin Thomas field for the WWT Championship at Mayakoba

Mexico City, October 20, 2021.- Just a couple of weeks away from the 15th anniversary of the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba, the tournament is set to receive the strongest field in its history composed of 132 players, with the confirmation of seven players within the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Justin thomas, number 7 in the world, tops the list of international stars who will play on the golf course The chameleon, on Mayakoba, to be held from November 4 to 7, at the pioneering event of the PGA TOUR in Mexico.

In addition to Thomas, who will play the tournament for the third time in his career, the attendance of the Americans was confirmed Tony Finau, 11 in the world ranking; Harris English, No. 14; and Billy Horschel, No. 20. Besides English Tyrrell Hatton (No. 17).

The Mexican Abraham Ancer (No. 12) and the defending champion, the Norwegian Viktor Hovland (No.15) were announced last week and are confirmed to compete in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Other big names already confirmed to compete next month include the Americans. Rickie Fowler, Brandt Snedeker y Gary Woodlandas well as Italian Francesco Molinari and English Danny Willett. The tournament will also feature top 50 players in the world, including Patrick Reed, Matt Fitzpatrick, Ryan Palmer, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Brian Harman, Garrick Higgo e Ian Poulter.

The Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell is one of ten former tournament champions who are confirmed to return in 2021 along with Brian Gay (2008), John Huh (2012), English (2013), Charley Hoffman (2014), Pat Perez (2016), Patton Kizzire (2017), Matt Kuchar (2018), Brendon Todd (2019) and Viktor Hovland (2020).

Again Latin America will be well represented with the confirmations of the Argentine Emiliano Grillo, the Chilean Myth Pereira, the Venezuelan Jhonattan vegas and the colombian Camilo Villegas.

The Mexican Carlos Ortiz it was announced and confirmed last week. They will also represent Mexico Roberto Díaz, Juan Carlos Benítez and Juan Diego Fernández. Díaz is the highest ranked Mexican in the Official World Golf Ranking, after the members of the TOUR, Ancer y Ortiz, while Benítez and Fernández received exemptions by virtue of winning qualifying events in the Mayakoba Match Play presented and the Invitational at Mayakoba, respectively.
