Double packer Schüller leads FC Bayern to victory

Thanks to Lea Schüller, the German women’s soccer champions Bayern Munich scored their first victory of this year’s Champions League season.

The strong national player led the team of coach Jens Scheuer on Thursday evening with her early brace to an effortless 4-0 (2-0) against the Swedish champions BK Häcken. In the second game, the Munich team gave the appropriate answer to the disappointing 0-0 start at Benfica Lisbon the previous week.

Schüller scored within two minutes to make it 2-0 (9/11) after less than a quarter of an hour, then the game flattened out in front of 688 spectators. Linda Dallmann (71.) and Jovana Damnjanovic (90. + 1) increased the result further.

With four points, Bayern, who started in the Bundesliga with five wins and 24: 1 goals, have a decent starting position in Group D, in which the record winner Olympique Lyon is an absolute top team. The French are also Bayern’s next premier class opponent (November 10th).

In the evening (9 p.m.) TSG Hoffenheim is still challenged at Arsenal FC. VfL Wolfsburg, the third German Champions League team, had already won their first win in their second game on Wednesday with a 5-0 win against Servette Geneva from Switzerland.
