Devils: Origi scorer with Liverpool, Manchester City and De Bruyne eliminated, Hazard and Courtois stall at Osasuna

In England, Liverpool and Divock Origi, holder, traveled to Preston, resident of Championship. The Reds won a logical 0-2 victory which allows them to advance to the quarter-finals of the League Cup. Divock Origi distinguished himself by scoring with an acrobatic gesture the 2nd goal in the 84th minute, after the opening goal of Minamino (62nd). He then stayed on the pitch until the final whistle.

Kevin De Bruyne did not have the same success, as Manchester City lost on penalties to West Ham, 5-3. After 90 minutes without a goal, Foden missed the Cityzens’ first shot on goal which ultimately resulted in the defeat of his own. Kevin De Bruyne, who started, was replaced in the 83rd minute by Grealish.

Leicester pocketed their penalty shootout qualification against Brighton, after regulation time ended 2-2. No Belgian has walked the lawn, despite the presence of Castagne on the bench of Foxes and that of Tsongui in Brighton. Tielemans (Leicester) and Trossard (Brighton) were missing from the scoresheet.

In Germany, Stuttgart, with Orel Mangala holder in the middle of the midfield, lost to Cologne, 0-2, in the round of 16 of the German Cup. The 23-year-old Belgian played the entire meeting decided by a double from Modeste (72nd and 77th).

In Spain, Real Madrid faced Osasuna in Matchday 11 of the league. The match ended in a draw, 0-0. Eden Hazard was on the bench at the start of the game but came into play in the 69th minute in place of Asensio. Courtois was the holder between the Madrid posts, recording his 3rd clean sheet of the season in the league.
