DeSean Jackson can look for another team

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said he gave wide receiver DeSean Jackson permission to look for a new team.

Hired as a free agent in the last offseason, the 34-year-old veteran is not having much success with the California team. He caught eight of 15 passes sent in his direction for gains of 221 yards and a touchdown in seven games.

On Friday, McVay announced that Jackson would not be in uniform for Sunday’s clash against the Texans in Houston. He also said the player “deserved the opportunity to see if there was a better option for him elsewhere”.

Jackson and his representatives can therefore call other parties in the NFL to try to organize a transaction.

The Rams are Jackson’s fourth team in the NFL, who also played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2008-2013 and 2019-2020), Washington football team (2014-2016) and the Washington Buccaneers. Tampa Bay (2017-2018).

The University of California product is struggling to stay healthy, having missed 24 games since 2019.
