On the second and final election day, Deportivo Cali elected its new Executive Committee for the 2021-2025 period.

The winner in the election was the plate ‘Unidos por el Cali, Unite vos tambien’, headed by the current president of the institution, Marco Aurelio Caicedo, by placing four of his candidates in the new Administration body. The only one who was left out was Carlos Eduardo Rengifo, (vice president of the Board of Directors of the Cali Chamber of Commerce).

Consequently, the chosen directors were: Marco Aurelio Caicedo (365 votes), Luis Fernando Mena (290), José Gabriel Robayo (279), Harold Losada (262) and Eduardo Ernesto Calderón (259).

Thirteen candidates – all men – were registered for the elections, divided into two plates and three independent ones.

Most of those who were elected agree with the change of statutes and have an investor, as well as having austerity in the operation next year. For this reason, it is very likely that Rafael Dudamel will remain as a coach to strengthen the quarry. The continuity of Teófilo Gutiérrez is not ruled out either, although it is still premature without even knowing if the team will classify the home runs.

Caicedo always said that “we have a very clear diagnosis, we have advanced in a landing curve, we know what are the difficulties and challenges that we are going to take on, so we have designed strategic axes on several fronts: sports, financial, quarry, headquarters , stadium, marketing and we are going to work on them to be able to move this institution forward, if the associates want us to continue, I ask them to help us with the whole plan because we need a work team that I have formed so that each one from their expertise and competencies can add up and make us achieve our goals ”.

Dr. Harold Losada, for his part, had mentioned as worrying the deficit of more than $ 74,000 million and the mortgage on some stands of the Palmaseca stadium.
