Coupe de France: it goes for the Red Star and Créteil, the Salesienne and Courbevoie come out with honors

A 6th round of the Cup without any big surprise this weekend in Ile-de-France. All the hierarchically superior teams qualified except the Colombian (R1) beaten (3-1) by ES Nanterre (R2). Nanterre will be the Parisian Petit Poucet of the 7th round (13-14 November) which will mark the entry into the running of the L2 clubs and therefore of Paris FC. The draw will take place on Wednesday.

What you must remember

In the poster of this 6th round, the Red Star finished its week well after its two defeats in the league against Le Mans (2-1) and Créteil (1-0) by qualifying against Lusitanos Saint-Maur (3 -0). Habib Beye’s team who had turned his team (6 changes in the starting 11 compared to the derby at Créteil) scored thanks to their three attackers of the day, Tokpa, Benali, Guel. On the Créteil side, Emmanuel Da Costa also had a turn (7 changes). His team came close to the correctional in Courbevoie, which plays four divisions below (R2) and which is coached by the ex-pro of OM and Glasgow Rangers, Brahim Hemdani. But Créteil came out of the trap narrowly, on penalties.

In the other matches, the three National 2 teams competing have qualified. Bobigny wins (3-2) the derby of 93 against Blanc-Mesnil. The leader of group A of N2, Versailles, won (1-0) in Neuilly-sur-Marne (1-0). Poissy wins the N2 duel at Fleury (2-0), who is already going through a bad patch in the league after having pranced in the lead at the start of the season.

The match: the Salesienne of Paris made the 17th century vibrate

The Paul Faber stadium at Porte d’Asnières thrilled in front of the match carried out by the players of the Salesienne Paris who play in the 1st district division, or the 9th division. Le petit Poucet from Ile-de-France in this 6th round managed a heroic match against Esperance Aulnaysienne who are playing three divisions above. Led 2-0, Manu Souloy’s team missed a penalty just before half-time. But she manages to come back to 2-2. Ten minutes from the end, in a head-to-head shock, a Salesienne player remains on the ground, bleeding. The match is suspended for 12 minutes. An interruption that breaks the momentum of the Greens of the 17th century who concede two goals in added time (2-4).

The reaction

Aymeric de Tilly, president of the Salesienne de Paris: “If we had taken 3-0, it was thank you goodbye… But here we are even more disappointed. Within three minutes, we were shooting on goal. There was room and it does not go far. But we had a great celebration. There were 800 people in the stands, supporters of Aulnay a little hot. Pierre Rabadan and all the elected representatives of the 17th century were there too, they could see that we were a club that worked well. It’s the end of the adventure but we gave a good image and it makes us even more want to continue our efforts to relive such moments. In the heat of the moment, it’s inevitably a disappointment but we will retain the positive to continue in this dynamic and continue to progress. “

Performance: ES Nanterre

Winner (3-1) of the 92nd North derby against Colombian’s neighbors, ES Nanterre (R2) is the only team to have beaten a hierarchically superior opponent in this 6th round. Nanterre can hope to relive the course of 2019 where he reached the 8th round against the Corsicans of Bastia-Borgo (2-1 defeat).

The player: Cheikh Touré

The 24-year-old striker from Poissy (N2) scored twice in his team’s qualification at Fleury (2-0). In the previous round, Cheick Touré had already scored a double against Sainte-Geneviève (4-0). The Coupe de France is a success for him since in the league, he has scored only one goal in 8 games. Passed by Sainte-Geneviève, Viry, Rennes, Dijon, Bergerac, Arcachon and Paris 13 Atlético, he signed at Poissy this summer.

The number: 4

There will be four Regional 1 teams in the draw for the 7th round of the Coupe de France: Sénart-Moissy, Espérance Aulnaysienne, Chatou and Cergy Pontoise. It is the most represented division. The other qualifiers come from National (2: Créteil, Red Star), National 2 (3: Poissy, Versailles, Bobigny), National 3 (1: Linas-Montlhéry) and Regional 2 (1: ES Nanterre).
