Genk-Club Brugge will be the poster for the knockout stages of the Belgian Cup after the draw on Thursday evening. A draw which also reserved a duel between Seraing and Anderlecht. Title-holder, Genk had eliminated Saint-Elois Winkel Sport, resident of Nationale 1, in the round of 16 (0-6) while Bruges, double defending Belgian champion, had released Deinze (D1B) with a score of 3- 0.
The other poster for the round of 16 will pit Seraing and Anderlecht against each other. The Seresians had eliminated Saint-Trond (3-2) while the Brussels residents had made short work of La Louvière, resident of D2 amateurs (1-7).
The Standard, who had qualified on the ground of Mouscron (0-1), will receive him the Beerschot who had taken over the Francs Borains (0-4).
After eliminating Charleroi and Antwerp respectively, Lommel and Westerlo, the last two representatives of the D1B, will both play at home in the round of 16. The Limburgers will welcome La Gantoise and the Campinois will welcome Oud-Heverlee Louvain.
In the other matches, Mechelen will host Cercle de Bruges, Eupen will host Zulte Waregem and Ostend will go to Kortrijk.
