Bayern is recovering, Dortmund and Friborg keep pace

Bayern washed away the affront of the slap received at Gladbach in the Cup, when Dortmund and Freiburg consolidated their place on the podium. Leverkusen stalled behind.

Bayern Munich recovered well from the slap suffered in Mönchengladbach (5-0) in the German Cup by easily winning against Union Berlin 5-2, and still leads the Bundesliga, closely followed by Dortmund and Friborg, also winners on the 10th day, Saturday. Humiliated in the cup, the Bavarians remain untouchable in the league, where they now have 25 points after their victory in their perilous trip to the lawn of Union Berlin, yet well classified (6th).

And who other than Robert Lewandowski to put the “Record champions»On the right track? The Bundesliga’s top scorer converted a penalty (15th) obtained after Jaeckel’s arm thwarted an attempt by Leroy Sané. The Pole then adjusted the Berlin goalkeeper with an unstoppable strike on a free kick from 25 meters played three-way with Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller.

At the hour of play, Coman also participated in the party by scoring a goal of pure winger: at full speed, he hooked his vis-à-vis on the right before sending a missile to the near post.

Still undefeated, Friborg continues to surprise

Borussia have managed to keep up with Bayern’s frantic pace by taming Cologne 2-0 in their lair. However, the BVB was scared by conceding a number of scoring chances, without Cologne taking advantage of its defensive flaws. Dortmund who were still deprived of their Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, injured in a hip, and whose return is hoped for before the end of the year.

After two chances from Marco Reus, clumsy in the box (25th), then too short on a cross from the former Parisian Thomas Meunier (37th), it was finally the Belgian international Thorgan Hazard who found the fault of the head (40th), alone in the area after a superb cross from the British nugget Jude Bellingham (18). Dortmund secured the three points by scoring a second goal thanks to a beautiful cross header from Steffen Tigges on a corner (64th), six minutes after coming into play. The Yellow and Black therefore remain one point behind the Bavarians, with two lengths ahead of Friborg, surprising third.

The only undefeated team (six wins, four draws) in the Bundesliga, Friborg continued its dream journey by dominating 3-1 the red lantern, Greuter Fürth, in its new stadium. Freiburg did not even have to force, taking advantage of a blunder by central defender Asta (20th), who, on a center, completely missed his intervention, deceiving his own goalkeeper. Cursed, Greuter Fürth continued to show bad luck when the head of Freiburg midfielder Nicolas Höfler, from a corner, ricocheted off his own goalkeeper after bouncing off the post (39th). Greuter Fürth reduced the score to a quarter of an hour from the final whistle by Jamie Leweling (74th), without effect on the result. Freiburg even drove the nail on the penalty spot a few minutes later thanks to Vincenzo Grifo (79th).

At the foot of the podium, Leverkusen cracked at home against Wolfsburg (2-0), in three minutes, conceding goals from Lukas Nmecha (48th) then Maximilian Arnold (51st). The second goal symbolizes the mistakes of Leverkusen’s rearguard: after a parry, then a counter strike, the ball came back to a Wolves player for the third consecutive time. In the standings, a five-point hollow now separates Leverkusen (4th) from the podium.
