Santiago.-The Organizing Committee of the X Intermunicipal Basketball Tournament of Santiago, announced that they will organize a basketball tournament after eleven years of absences with eight municipalities which will integrate thousands of lovers of this sport.
The activity was led by the Provincial Governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, and the event is organized by the Santiago de los Caballeros Basketball Association (ABASACA), chaired by the sports leader José Luís Aracena.
The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Juan Pablo Duarte Conference Room, which is located in the Governorate of said province. Ms. Santos will be the one who will be accompanied in that Organizing Committee.
Lucildo Gómez, first vice president; National Vice Minister of Communications of the Presidency Federico Reynoso besides being one of the main managers of ABASACA, he also holds the position of second vice president in the Organizing Committee; Professor Rodolfo Reyes, Mayor of the municipality of Sabana Iglesia and sports promoter was appointed as head of finance (treasurer) and Mr. Anyolino Germosén, Mayor of the municipality of Tamboril as secretary, the other Mayors of the participating municipalities also form an important part of the Committee Organizer.
Governor, Santos, was accompanied by the president of ABASACA José Luís Aracena, the Provincial Director of the Ministry of Sports Tony Peña R; the Deputy Director of Information and Press of the Presidency, Lucildo Gómez, the Councilor for the Mayor’s Office of Santiago Fernando Estévez (Leandro), the communicator Richie Hernández, in charge of Public Relations of Proindustria, who represented the director of that institution, Mr. Ulises Rodríguez, also the executive of ABASACA Félix Hernández and the general coordinator of this event and its marketer, Ruperto Ruck.
