Basketball referees meeting held | September | 2021 | News from the Csi | News area

About 30 referees of the 35 currently active participated in the internship (including two new referees who will be included this year in our group and awaiting those who are doing the course just started this weekend), showing interest and great willingness to resume our business as soon as possible.

After registration and control of the Green Pass to those present, for the most part arrived around 9.00 under a half deluge in Cornaredo, the day of work was presented and space was immediately given to Laura Spoto e Sonia Severin, representing the other two arbitration sections and who reciprocated the visit made by me to their internships over the past few weeks, with an atmosphere of great collaboration and friendship between the various sections.

Word then to the Technical Director Fabio Pini who gave us updates on the number of registrations for our championships and then showed us the news on the referees website for the insertion of reports with the validation of the game lists.

After giving organizational information on the next sporting year, we then moved on to the quiz tests that interested all present, before the pleasant and convivial lunch break.

At the resumption of the work, always under a pouring rain, there was the correction of the tests with the technical-regulatory debate that followed and then everyone on the field to referee a U19 match organized for the occasion. also revealed a very trying test, finishing point to point with a good dose of competitive spirit.

With a greeting to everyone and the promise of updates at the end of registration, the day ended around 5.30 pm.

THE COMMENTS OF SOME REFEREES

Simone Pedrazzi (Deputy Manager)

After 2 years from the Lizzola Residential Internship, we found ourselves for a gathering concentrated in a single day, in what is the “sports house” of the CSI. I experienced this internship as a deputy, as an organizer, living behind the scenes for the first time.

It was an intense day, but full of satisfactions, especially for having found ourselves all together.

This, in fact, allowed us to meet the 3 new referees who have decided to become part of our Group and, last but not least, to present the members and roles of the newly elected Executive.

Not only. The sporting season at the gates has been presented, despite the difficulties inherent in youth activity, which we hope will really mark the new restart.

During the morning, there was space for a formative moment with the regulatory quizzes conducted by the new Head of Training of the group, Federico Volpari. Really very good!

In the afternoon we organized an Under 19 friendly which, from a competitive point of view, turned out to be of a good level and which allowed us referees, in turn, to regain confidence with the field.

On a personal level, it was an important moment for all of us, because it allowed us to confront ourselves, to return to do it in presence and to be able to resume our beloved sporting activity with serenity.

It is the first stage / meeting in which I participate and I was very happy with the experience. I have been part of the referees group since 2019, but I only had time to referee a couple of matches before the pandemic and four more last season.

I definitely enjoyed the quiz and field refereeing part of the meeting more than the more “verbal” part of the meeting that took place in the morning.

I very much appreciated the U19 refereeing moment because I was immediately provided with numerous useful tips to improve myself.

Even more, I am experiencing the upcoming resumption of the championships with emotion. I hope to always referee with extreme tranquility …

For me too it was the first experience of participating in an arbitration meeting / internship. It was a good initiative because it was extraordinary to meet and share that day almost all together.

Two moments above all: the lunch and the subsequent U19 match that saw us engaged, in rotation, in refereeing.

I also really appreciated the intervention of the guests, such as Severin, Spoto and the Technical Director Pini; a significant presence that expresses closeness and cohesion between the parties.

Another positive note, I saw that from a technical point of view there is a lot of transparency, which is keen to specify why and how some choices and decisions are faced.

In part, but it is a very personal opinion, I would reduce the exposure time of these concepts a little more to give more space to aggregative moments.
