Clint Capela and the Atlanta Hawks conceded their third loss of the season (in six games) on Saturday night in Philadelphia. The Georgian franchise even conceded a heavy setback, since the 76ers won by a gap of 28 points (122-94).
Clint Capela delivered an average game: 4 of 11 two-pointers (36.4%), and 3 of 4 from the free throw line, for a total of 11 points in nearly 28 minutes of play. The Geneva pivot has however was present on the rebound (12 in all, including 8 offensive). He finished the game with a differential of –19.
(Development follows)
It was the last unbeaten franchise this season: the Utah Jazz fell in Chicago (107-99), victim of a very good performance from DeMar DeRozan, author of 32 points for the Bulls. Besides DeRozan, who posted his best total this season, Zach LaVine scored 26 points before relinquishing his place with a sprained thumb.
The loss of Patrick Williams, injured in the wrist and unavailable for the rest of the regular season, does not seem to have affected the morale of the Bulls, who settle in the top quartet of the Eastern Conference.
The work of Rudy Gobert (17 pts, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks) was not enough for the Jazz, which suffered the fury of the Bulls between the third and the fourth quarter by conceding an 18-5. Utah rebelled to return to 5 points, but Nikola Vucevic (16 pts) was responsible for bringing Chicago back to the shelter.
Milwaukee galley
The season starts off mixed for Milwaukee. The defending champion suffered another defeat, the third in six games this season, this time against the poorly ranked San Antonio (102-93). Admittedly, the Bucks are deprived of several players, injured: Brook Lopez (back), Jrue Holiday (ankle) and Donte DiVincenzo (ankle surgery). Certainly, Giannis Antetokounmpo did the job, with 28 points, the best total of the game, and 13 rebounds.
But this new poor performance is cause for concern, especially against an opponent who had only one victory so far, and for whom it was the third consecutive away game. The young team coached by Gregg Popovich played together, with five players passing the 10-point mark: Dejounte Murray (23), Derrick White (17), Bryn Forbes (16), Keldon Johnson (12), Thaddeus Young (10) .
Washington roi du suspense
It took two extensions to separate Washington and Boston … and for the Wizards to win (115-112) and settle among the leaders in the East. It was through Bradley Beal, the game’s top scorer with 36 points, that Washington definitely took the advantage in overtime.
Spencer Dinwiddie put the Wizards to three points, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope delivered the DC franchise with a final block on Jaylen Brown, who would attempt a shot to equalize at the buzzer. Kyle Kuzma (17 pts, 17 rebounds) and Montrezl Harrell (20 pts, 14 rebounds) were awarded a double-double on the Wizards side, as did Jayson Tatum (27 pts, 15 rebounds) on the Celtics side.
Welcome Cunningham
In the other matches of the night, Cade Cunningham, first choice of the last draft, made his NBA debut with Detroit who won in Orlando (110-103). Cunningham, deprived of the start of the season by an ankle injury, started with a shy performance: 2 small points, but 7 rebounds.
