Cologne (SID) – Third game, third defeat: The German basketball cup winner Bayern Munich just can’t get into the EuroLeague. At the Russian club Unics Kazan, coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team suffered a 70:73 (37:26) defeat despite a long lead.
Against the previously winless Russians, the Munich team got off to a good start, showed themselves to be efficient with three-point throws and at the beginning of the second half had an intermittent 16-point lead. But at the end of the third quarter, the game tipped over in favor of the hosts, the Munich team had nothing more to oppose and gave the game out of hand. Bayern’s best thrower was Darrun Hilliard with 17 points.
