Brose Bamberg has handed over the championship lead in the basketball league to FC Bayern Munich. Against Alba Berlin, the team of coach Johan Roijakkers lost 89: 101 (38:43).
For Bamberg it was the second defeat of the season, the club from the capital drove the third win in the sixth league game. Previously, the German champions had lost three competitive games in a row.
The new front runner from Munich had already prevailed at medi Bayreuth with 87:78 (44:46). Bayern struggled for a long time. The overall weak throwing rate from a distance was ultimately not decisive. The best thrower of the game was Bayreuth’s Marcus Thornton with 18 points.
EWE Baskets Oldenburg are still in trouble. They lost in the Lower Saxony derby at the BG Göttingen with 85:95 (38:45) and after six games they only have one win on the account. Across all competitions, they have already suffered the fifth bankruptcy in a row.
S.Oliver Würzburg gave himself some air. The Franconians beat the Jobstairs Gießen 46ers with 82:69 (37:34), took their second win of the season and overtook the opponent in the table. The game was overshadowed by minor injuries in the final phase.
