Badminton will perform V Santo Domingo Junior International

The details of the so-called “great badminton party” on Dominican soil were offered in the Juan Ulises García Saleta event room of the Dominican Olympic Committee.

Santo Domingo.- More than a hundred athletes from 12 countries will be taking part in the 5th Santo Domingo Junior International and Badminton Open, which will take place from October 21 to 29 at the Table Tennis Pavilion in Parque del Este.

The event, which will serve as a target for the national team that will participate in the I Pan American Youth Games Cali-Valle 2021, will distribute points in the international ranking.

The Dominican representation is made up of Nairobi Jiménez, Henry Zorrilla, Daniel Acosta, Claritza Pie, Argenis Mariñez and Juleisi Acosta, under the direction of coaches Rafael Santín and Edwin González, while the delegate will be Miguel Feliz.

In addition to the hosts, players from Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Peru, Guyana, the United States, India, Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil will attend.

The general secretary of the Dominican Badmiton Federation, Generoso Castillo, reported that during the first week of competition those under 19 will be operating, while for the second it will be open mode.

Edwin Rodríguez, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Dominican delegation for Cali-Valle 2021, was present at the activity, who highlighted the progress that badminton has shown in the country.
