Ehe Spanish men’s tennis is represented this week at the St. Petersburg Open 250 by Roberto Bautista, Albert Ramos, Pedro Martínez and Pablo Andújar.
For the moment, the Cuenca has been the first to debut with victory in the individual table after defeating this Tuesday Federico Delbonis by 6-2 and 7-6 (1). They will be seen for a place in the quarters with the Canadian Denis Shapovalov, second favorite of the contest and exempt from the initial round.
Andújar, at 35 years old and in position 92 of the ATP ranking, he is assured of finishing the season within the world ‘top100’ so he will directly enter the next edition of the Australian Open.
Less fortunate was Martínez, a quarter-finalist last week in Moscow and eliminated in the debut at the hands of Tommy Paul by 6-3 and 6-2.
Ramos will debut tomorrow against Kremlin Cup finalist Marin Cilic and Bautista will do so against American Mackenzie McDonald.
