At 15, the German Chiara Noja goes pro on the LET

As a prelude to the Dubai Moonlight Classic, the German Chiara Noja announced her professional transition at just 15 years old. She will try to follow in Michelle Wie’s footsteps.

15 years old is an age when you are still in high school, and often not worrying about future employment problems. This is not the case with the golfer Chiara Noja, 15 years old and an index of +7, which has just turned professional.

Hired this week at Dubaï Moonlight Classic, the young German announced her transition earlier this week. This is already her second participation in the event played at sunset, she was ranked 55th (out of 56) in 2020.

In the footsteps of Michelle Wie

The one who settled in the United Arab Emirates has already signed some encouraging results this year. During her five appearances in LETAS tournaments, she has each time crossed the cut signing two top 10s, including a very good 2nd place in the Golf Flanders Trophy.

This is not to remember the professional passage of Michelle Wie in October 2005. The American had crossed the threshold just a week before her sixteenth birthday with a juicy contract with Nike!

Since then, she has signed five LPGA victories, including the US Women’s Open in 2014. On the French side, Jean Bekirian waited until he was 16 to take the big step. Now 19, the young Frenchman has competed in five events on the Challenge Tour this year for two validated cuts.
