Archery, the students of the “Felice Fatati” at the Archery school

“We feel part of the city fabric and have always believed in the benefits that sport can bring to the growth of our young people – declares Stefano Tombesi president of the Arcieri Città di Terni – we accepted the request of prof. Luca Coletti who wanted to introduce students to our sport and our facility. For us it was obviously a pleasure and an honor ”.

So this morning 54 students got to know the fantastic world of Archery. At our facility in theArchery Training Center the boys, accompanied by their teachers under the watchful gaze of our instructors, were able to shoot the first arrows and do physical activity in the open air using both the gym and the outdoor competition field.

“This project was also born from the need to let children try an activity outside the school, in a beautiful environment surrounded by nature. In this context – says prof. Luca Coletti – we have the availability of professionals who are teaching our students archery, an Olympic discipline that in particular at this age is also important for knowing oneself, for attention, concentration, body positioning. Then there is another aspect: the gym of our school is not accessible at the moment. Also for this reason we are trying to make children do sports by taking advantage of opportunities like this that is offered to us by the City of Terni Archers. A useful way to carry out a program suitable for children “.

The students were divided into two groups. While one worked inside the gym and tried his hand at archery, the other did physical activity using our competition field. This project was made for parallel classes. Today it was the turn of 54 students of the first grade, next Friday it will be up to 60 of the second ones while on the last Friday 80 of the third classes will learn about archery.

“This project – concludes prof. Coletti – it was also created to help pupils socialize and allow them to spend a few hours outdoors. We come from a period of distance learning, now we are in the classroom with masks and opportunities like these can only do them good “.

The difficulties of the Institute were immediately acknowledged by the City of Terni Archers. “We have made our facility available in the morning on days when we don’t do sports so that it can be used in a completely exclusive way. The Archery Training Center – conclude Stefano Tombesi – it is not a real gym but allows the carrying out of motor activity. It is also the Federal Center for ParaArchery. To conclude, we are very happy to continue to make our contribution to society and to meet the problems of the city. We hope that this project can also be repeated with other Institutes. We are the City of Terni Archers, our doors are always open ”.
