Andrea Petkovic at the WTA tournament in Moscow in the round of 16 – opponent Jelena Ostapenko has to give up

In the second round, Petkovic will meet number nine seeded Anett Kontaveit (Estonia).

Kontaveit had prevailed in the first round against the Czech Katerina Siniaková 6: 3 and 6: 3.

At the Masters in Indian Wells in early October, Petkovic had lost her first round match against Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6: 7, 1: 6).

Ostapenko had advanced to the semifinals in Indian Wells.
