An annoyed Lakers legend: “It’s too early for Davis”

Anthony Davis was sorely missed by the Lakers last season, due to recurring muscle injuries. And for a franchise legend, history could repeat itself – the fault of Frank Vogel’s mismanagement. Interieur would not actually be ready to continue the meetings.

Without LeBron James, the Lakers had the opportunity to strike a blow on the floor of Spurs this Tuesday and send a message to the rest of the league. It’s done with a great victory obtained after extra time, thanks in particular to an excellent Russell Westbrook. The leader achieved his best game with the Purple and Gold jersey with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

But he is not the only one to have distinguished himself sinceAnthony Davis also was monstrous with his first big box in a long time. The interior finished with 35 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks, proof that his health concerns are well and truly behind him. The good season of the Lakers will pass by a good form of the “Brow”, this service is thus inevitably reassuring for all the fans.

Anthony Davis already overused?

The problem is that during the meeting, AD stayed on the ground for a few minutes with apparent pain in his knee, a nice reminder when you know your liabilities with injuries. And according to Robert Horry, the management of the interior by Frank Vogel is quite catastrophic. He is coming back from a long unavailability and a complicated season, so he should be spared, which is not the case for the moment.

I’m obviously tempted to talk about the Big 2, since LeBron was absent, but everyone was good, the Lakers needed this win. But what mainly stands out for me is still that Anthony Davis played 42 minutes while they still have one game to play tomorrow… It’s too early for him to play so much.

Without extra time, Anthony Davis would have had a playing time of 37 minutes, which is enormous for a player who suffered so much from fatigue last season… The interior was undoubtedly consulted by his coach, but his body has proven in the past that it could give in to accumulation. So it will be interesting to see how the Lakers deal with it in the back-to-back against the Thunder.

Anthony Davis is fragile, Robert Horry knows it. So seeing him 42 minutes on the field for Game 4 of the regular season worries him about the future, and he’s probably not the only one.
