Ajax takes a financial hit through extension with main sponsor

October 29, 2021 – Ajax and main sponsor Ziggo have extended their collaboration, the Amsterdam club announced on Friday morning. The new agreement will run until the summer of 2025.

That means that Ajax and Ziggo have extended the collaboration for two years; the previous commitment lasted until mid-2023. “Ziggo has been on our shirt since 2015 and you can safely speak of a partnership that gets better and stronger every year. We are grateful to Ziggo for the support they have already given and for the confidence in our future,” said Menno Geelen, commercial director Ajax.

According to The Telegraph With the ‘piece of art’, Ajax insures itself for two years longer of a fixed amount of nine million euros and two million euros in bonuses, which the cable operator pays annually. “When we look back on ten years of main sponsorship in 2025, I am sure that we will look back with satisfaction on the sporting successes we shared and on the way in which our fans have been able to benefit from this long-term collaboration,” concludes Geelen.

Marcel de Groot, VodafoneZiggo consumer market director is proud of the extension of the main sponsorship and thinks that Ajax’s appeal will only increase. “In our new customer program Priority, Ajax will therefore play a major role, alongside other partners such as Ziggo Dome and MOJO. We are very much looking forward to letting our customers experience the magic of Ajax, on an even bigger and better scale than before, with ticket deals and all kinds of unique experiences.”
