Against WO, Kevin/Marcus secure French Open Round of 16 ticket

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon got a big advantage. The first seed immediately advanced to the last 16 of the French Open after the opponent declared walkover.

Referring to the French Open 2021 software tournament, the names of Kevin/Marcus were immediately included in the top chart of the second round drawing. They were supposed to face Danish doubles Joel Ripe/Rasmus Kjaer who then decided to withdraw.

In the second round, the world number one doubles will wait for the winner of the match between Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel against Tan Kian Meng/Tan Wee Kiong which will be presented on Tuesday (10/26/2021) at 10.50 local time.

Apart from Kevin/Marcus, another men’s doubles that received the same benefit was the British doubles Ben Lane/Sean Vendy. They should also face Danish doubles Jeppe Bay/Lasse Molhede in the first round.

Then the Japanese pair Akira Koga/Taichi Saito also stepped into the last 16 after Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Radmussen decided walkover.

The French Open will be held at Stade Pierre de Courbertin, Paris, from 26 to 31 October 2021. Indonesia fielded 18 players in the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament.

The players who will appear today are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto who will face Alexander Dunn/Adam Hall, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito against Brian Yang.

In the women’s singles sector, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will meet Mia Blichfeldt, and Nita Violina Marwah/Putri Syaikah against Amelie Magelund/Freja Ravn.

At the French Open 2019, Indonesia won two titles from the men’s doubles number Kevin / Marcus and the mixed doubles from Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti. While the men’s singles, Jonathan Christie came out as runner up.
