Simone Bedodi, player and coach of Carega Park Rangers, the baseball team that won the game that allowed him to go from Serie C to Serie B on Saturday night, died yesterday at the age of forty.
At the moment the cause of Bedodi’s death is not clear, so much so that an autopsy would have been ordered to understand the reason.
The reconstruction
From the first reconstructions of the incident, it seems that the forty-year-old athlete went off the road with his car while returning from the promotion party on Saturday evening, a couple of kilometers away from his home, in Baganzola. The impact seems not to have been particularly violent, so much so that Bedodi would have returned on foot.
Once he got home he would rest for a few hours and then wake up and experience a sudden illness. The death of Bedodi has aroused great amazement and condolence among friends and colleagues who have made their proximity to family members felt and written moving posts on his Facebook page. Bedodi had been working for a bakery for some time, but was about to change jobs. A great lover of baseball, a sport he had started practicing at a very young age, Bedodi was a sunny person, always smiling and a lover of company.
The memory of Magriotis
One of the closest people to Bedodi was Antonio Magriotis, president of the Carega Park Rangers. «We played together for several years in the Junior Parma in via Parigi, and then took two different paths – he remembers -. This year he arrived in the Carega Park Rangers reaching the promotion ».
Antonio Magriotis does not hide the emotion for the sudden death of Bedodi, to whom he was deeply attached. «His death touched me deeply – he declares – Simone was a sunny boy, always ready to joke, with whom he was happy to be in company. We are all really shocked by what happened to him ».
Simone Bedodi leaves his mother Mara, his father Luigi, who has always been active in the world of baseball, and his brother Stefano.
