“Serbia is currently considered a country with color code red in the context of the covid 19 problem,” it sounds in a statement from AA Gent. “It is therefore only allowed to travel to Belgium in the context of an essential trip or subject to presentation of a vaccination certificate showing that one has been vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
“Since Serbia is not part of the European Union and the Serbian population is also vaccinated with unrecognized vaccines, part of the Serbian population is not eligible for an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent.”
“As a result, it is practically impossible for KAA Gent to check Serbian spectators in a smooth and reliable way.”
“Finally, it has become clear in recent days that corona infections and hospital admissions are skyrocketing again, not only in Belgium, but all over Europe. The situation is also alarming in Serbia. In light of the current epidemiological situation, the visitor’s trade will remain closed.”
